Description

Essential oils, or ‘essences’ as they are also called, are highly concentrated substances extracted from various parts of aromatic plants and trees. They are usually captured by steam distillation, a process whose origins can be traced back to ancient Mesopotamia.

I remember well my grandmother who always carried a small bottle of lavender with her, swearing on its antiseptic, antibacterial, antibiotic, antidepressant, analgesic, decongestant and sedative properties. And that was long before people took a bigger interest in homeopathy and aromatherapy.

Just smelling an essential oil can uplift our mood and make us feel better.

When I developed my first fragrance composition My Thai I followed courses, studied books and looked for suppliers. Whenever possible I use organic essential oils and I have found two well known suppliers, one in Switzerland and one in Canada.

The rest is training, training and training, making lots of fragrance samples and give the finished composition time to mature like a great wine.

Ever so often my customers asked for small bottles of a sheer essence and this is how another category has been added to my range: 10 ml bottles that come with a description of properties and uses.
