Another five hours to go (European time) before we welcome the new year.

These past weeks everybody speaks about New Year’s resolutions, review of the past year and (business) plans for the new year. I do not think this works for me.

This works for me: I have looked at the pictures and videos I made these last twelve months and I have seen so much beauty, serenity and spirituality. I will carry this feeling over to the new year.

Let me share some of them with you:

    1. @Hajra Thank you so much, Hajra, 2011 was my year of travels: I have been to Thailand, the United States and Italy, in beautiful southern Tuscany, my second home. So, my pictures actually cover three continents!

My best wishes go out to you for a wonder and laughter filled 2012, great to see you here!

  1. Happy new years to you Barbara. The pics are fab. I hope you saw the new year in in style! You would be pleased to hear that I had a few champagnes as a treat!

    1. @JanineRipper Happy happy happy to you! Hope the champagne did you good and you feel great!

We saw the new year in in style: sleeping! A first for me (being able to say NO and putting myself first) and I really enjoyed it.

  2. Sweet Barbara … how unique of you! These photographs speak beautiful volumes! Love, love, love them! You and Kaarina have such a talent for photography. So many are my favorites, but I’d have to choose the older woman with the flowers and greens beans as my tops!! WOW!

Wishing you an even more amazing year than last and hope it brings you unimaginable beauty and gifts!!

    Peace and kindness,

    Elena

    1. @WGB2U Cara Elena, thank you so much! The pictures mean a lot to me, specially since my eyesight is really rotten (it is my retina) and I never know what the results will be – miracles. The old woman (you know I call her BEFANA) is quite a tricky old lady at a nearby local farmer market, she charges exorbitant prices for rather doubtful quality, but the way she does it – admirable! She symbolizeses something for me, just have not figured out yet what exactly!

Yes to a an even more amazing year and that we will never lose the ability to wonder at newly discovered beauty!

      Bacione, Barbara

  3. Fulminant? Are you sure you didn’t mean Blitzartig, schnell auftretend und mit großer Härte und Intensität….:).

The photos were great; I’m guessing you and the dog got slipped in there too?……..:)

We will have fun this year; I’m looking forward to enjoying it with you. Thanks for sharing this.

    Happy New Year to you.

    1. @bdorman264 Haha, Bill, your German skills are improving so fast!

Yes, I am the one in Elena’s favourite picture, or? Look for the cleaning lady in disguise! And Chica is the one with the soulful eyes, begging for food, of course!

Definitely we will have fun and sharing it with you will double it!

Happy New Year, I want to over to this Southern guy’s page and see what he has written again and not posted before. See you soon!

  4. Really great photos. Photography is a very good way of focusing on all the beauty in the world, which usually makes us much more appreciative and happy about life. Seems like you are doing a good job of that!

  5. WOW! These are amazing shots! I share your feelings about not planning, making resolutions, or reviewing the year. =) But I hadn’t thought about sharing visual memories! Maybe I shall work this into my tradition! =) Love it, Barbara!

    1. @knikkolette Welcome, Knikkolette, thanks for stopping by and commenting. Yes, this was an amazing morning in southern Tuscany in October, the day we left for the drive home to Switzerland.

We’ve got a strange storm going on right now with thunder and lightning, very unusual for January. No pictures – just opening the window I was drenched!

  6. Lovely collection – I especially liked the photo of all the green foliage a bug toward the top hanging out, enjoying life!

Thank you for sharing – Happy 2012!! 🙂

    ~Keri

    1. @JSJ2020 You all spoil me, thank you so much, Muriel.I started to take that many pictures only last year, maybe this helps to get better results when you have some goal in mind? Nevermind, the most important thing to make somebody happy!
