    1. Good morning to you @Lori !

Just visited Life, for Instance and you got me thinking about keeping journals, I have been neglecting mine for the last few days. Oh well, today I am excused!

I just finished making a huge batch of concentraded sugo napoletano (vegan by the way) which I will sell on my next market, this coming Saturday, probably freezing my butt off! But I love these markets, talking with strangers about my products and how to use them.

And tonight I have a dinner date with one of my favourite girldfriends, this will be my celebration!

Glorious sunshine outside, time for a walk with Chica, my dog.

      Have a glorous day, Barbara

  1. To one of the kindest, sweetest and most considerate people I know. Congratulations Barbara. So happy for you. Can not thank you enough for your continued support and encouragement, for me and The CARE Movement. Your guest post was fabulous too. Enjoy this wondeerful day.

    Take CARE.

    Al

    1. @Al Smith : Dear Al,

This feels like a very nice birthday party – thank you so much for coming and please have another piece of that Imperial Tart! May I reciprocate the compliment? Without you I would not be where I am now!

I am overwhelmed with the reaction I received and keep receiving from the CARE movement.

      Caring thoughts,

      Barbara

  2. Do not be nice to Al; you feed him once and he will never leave……….

Happy, happy anniversary; that is quite the accomplishment to make it one year. I have a ways to go still, but know how you can question what you are doing at times. Do you know how many posts?

You did do a great job at his place last week; are you celebrating with your bloomers on?

    1. @bdorman264 Fully dressed celebration with a lovely dinner and a bottle of Ribeira del Duero!

You, my Southern friend, have come a long way in a short time, but to each his own (where have I read that before?). How many posts? 65, I try to post once a week, but I am not too worried about it, I like to keep it regular, good for my discipline. And maybe I would even be missed?

I think what I questioned most during that first year was the amount of time I spent on reading and studying all the technical stuff and dodging all the super-mega-YOUNEEDITNOW offers of becoming famous in 2 minutes, proud not to have succombed!

      1. @Late_Bloomers Now that I know you, I would certainly miss you.

I came in backwards and just started commenting away before I even thought about starting a blog. Secondly, all that technical stuff sounded like work so I made sure I avoided that at all costs. I heard this was supposed to be social and most social stuff I do doesn’t require work. Just sayin’………..

        1. @bdorman264 Ohhhh, thank you!

Why does your coming in backwards not surprise me? And the way you are omnipresent online, I certainly buy that line of social stuff not requiring any work from you! I am blue with envy of course and be not surprised if you have a burglar coming to search for that magic wand!

  3. Congratulations on your Blogversary Barbara! I hit mine back in August, and felt such a sense of accomplishment! Wishing you much continued success. To be able to write a blog with “tooth”, or substance to it, is something to take pride in. 😀

    1. @jonesbabie Thank you so much, Cathy! YES, we have every reason to be proud of, do we not?

And sometimes we do not know where the journey will take us, but we will cross the bridge when we come to it. This is a lesson learnt from the first year: patience and doing the right thing at the right moment.

So, here’s to continued success for all us!

  4. Happy anniversary for you.. I know that you did pretty well! For your anniversary I wish you more power and more topic to post! Keep up the good work!

  5. Congrats. I think that’s a really important milestone for a blog. It would be interesting to know what percentage of blogs started make it past their first year. I’m guessing not a lot.

  6. A very happy anniversary to you, Barbara! I am thrilled you have passed this milestone and are beyond your rookie year. I never would have expected you were fairly new to this, you seem to be a pro!

Looking forward to enjoying your articles for many years to come!

    1. @wonderoftech Thank you so much, Carolyn! I still feel very much the rookie, otherwise I would not get so easily upset about some changes on Facebook (although this seems like ages ago!).

And the compliment goes down like fudge (I have been experimenting with fudge lately, can you tell?).

Here’s to many more years of happy blogging and commenting, enjoyed your poll tremendously!

      1. @Late_Bloomers The birthday cake is plenty big enough and beautiful. Some days I just can’t keep up with the people I luv. But better late than never, right? And YES YES YES…many more to come!
