A Day In The Life … Paradise

Day #27

Did you know that the word paradise stems from the Hebrew word pardes and it means orchard?

This morning I went to paradise, a very earthy one, i.e. a friend’s garden to pick some grapes.

It was a foggy morning and not as wet as the last time two years ago. Actually, it was not wet at all and I enjoyed myself very much.

Picking grapes and ever so often pausing to have a look at all the autumn bounty still around:

You know me by now: I am far too honest (read: lazy) to edit my photography, WISIWYG (what I see is what you get).

sunflower II

the same sunflower (not photoshopped either)

Do you want another one?

Guess what? WISIWYG

Day #27 A few hours in paradise will give me peace for the rest of the day.

What is your paradise?

Do you like gardening and growing your own produce?

Do you eat it yourself or do you give it away?

  1. HI Barbara,
Harvesting a garden IS paradise! We are savouring the last of our cherry tomatoes – so sweet! Unfortunately our apples are too buggy to enjoy but our grapes are coming along just fine! My husband tried some different varieties this summer and this evening I tasted a very sweet one! Most of our grapes are of the concord variety – great for grape jam which I’m looking forward to making soon!
    🙂

  2. Lori Hi Lori! So true: harvesting a garden is paradise and I love this feeling of gratitude and also a little bit of pride when growing something from seeds to fruit.
Can you imagine that I made 11 L of grape juice yesterday and today? I might use some of it later on to make grape jam, would you like to share your recipe? I am always keen on finding new ways …
Thank you so much for your support and now I will put up my feet and rest! Talk to you soon!

  3. Hi Barbara! I see the livefyre issue here – I am unable to respond to your response 😮
I would share the recipe if you like. It’s on a grape-juice spattered recipe card, rewritten more than once. I got the recipe from my neighbor who had saved it from the box of Certo years before. They don’t put that recipe in the box anymore. I used to make grape jelly but once I tried the grape jam there was no going back!

  4. Lori livefyre Good morning, Lori! I’d love to have the recipe – thank you! Oh, not again! Dhara told me to click close to the letter “R” (of reply) and then it should work …. no further comment.
Going out for a walk now, it is rather cold and grey – a typical autumn morning.
