A Day In The Life … On The Road Again: Route 65

Day #14

I spent a very lazy Saturday, not doing much. I think I deserve a break after all the work I have accomplished last week!

In the evening we went to a music club near Basel, Rockfact, for a startup concert by a new country band, Route 65.

Seven highly talented musicians, practically all amateurs, took us on a magic music tour.

They play modern country music and their repertoire encompasses classical honky tonk, ballads but also shows traces of rock’n’roll, blues and swing.

The band features three exceptional lead singers and it was great to listen to their interpretation of such illustrious songs by Alan Jackson, Dwight Yoakam, Emmylou Harris, Mary Chapin Carpenter but also more traditional songs by Merle Haggard, Loretta Lynn, Bobby Bare and Linda Ronstadt.

Day #14: I feel very lucky (and very tired) to have been part of such a wonderful evening!

  1. KDillabough It is fun! When you come to Europe next year we will go to some gigs and sing along! Well, maybe they will not like this. And you certainly deserve it after all the work! Even without, there should be more music in our lives!
I went away today and misplaced my mobile, honestly this is a welcome experience. I never knew that I practically live glued to it …
Have a wonderful week, my friend! xo

  2. Late_Bloomers You too! It was another day of heavy, hard work, so the thoughts of next year and Tuscany are bright reminders that there will be a vacation! Yay! And we will sing…and dance…and drink wine…and take photos…and….it will be so much fun!

  3. KDillabough YES to all of it! And we will write!
Hard work yes but ever so satisfying, there is tough physical labour and at the end of the day we are tired, feel every muscle in our body but we know the reason for it.
So  much to look forward to, I love it! Have a wonderful evening, Kaarina!
