A Day In The Life … On Tackling New Things

Day #12

After a long day working offline (yes, this exists) on a new project I was sitting in front of my screen writing in my journal and asking myself how I was feeling about tackling something new.

Excited – yes, but whereas in former years I was all going forward, I keep having second thoughts. Is it the right thing? Will I be able to pull it through? Am I good enough?

Actually, it does not matter what kind of a project it is. I am not being coy or trying to make you curious. I am thinking about my changed attitude towards life without judging anything. Observing myself and comparing today’s behaviour to the one of earlier years.

 The silver lining?

But maybe it is time to get into action now just like Ralph Marston said today on The Daily Motivator: „Stop looking for ways to put it off and start discovering how well you can get it done. This is a great time and a great place to get into action now.“

Day #12: Just do it! How about you?

  1. Barbara, isn’t Ralph’s stuff great!?!?!  Yes, just do it! How else can we get it done?
By the way, it seems we don’t judge others once we stop judging ourselves. THAT should be easy 😉 Take care of one and the other will follow! How’s that for motivation 😉

  2. Lori Hi, Lori, good morning to you! Yes, thanks to you I get my daily dose of motivation and fodder for thoughts. This has inspired me yesterday for the post!
No, I did not know this, way cool!
    Have a lovely day,
    Barbara
PS. Seems that livefyre took care of the glitch! Proves that by waiting some days, some problems just vanish. HOW’s that?

  3. Late_Bloomers Wow – the morning sky out my window looks like the sky in your photo!
I’m not 100% sure about the judging thing; it’s my interpretation of “Judge not and ye shall not be judged.”
Yes, the problem vanished and all we had to do was wait (and not be impatient, angry, etc.) I watched my son solve so many problems in this way. He never let them get to him. They just solved themselves. Especially computer problems!
    Happy Friday my friend!

  4. Lori a good sign to get up to pink clouds! May your day be likewise, I’d stop at pink food though! Miss Piggy food …
The sun is shining here as well, some more office work which I postponed (hello Ms Procrastination!) all week long and which is hanging around my neck like a millstone and then weekend: my daughter is coming this afternoon as she wants to do some creative work with Indesign.
I’d love to have a Skype chat, any dates in the next days which would suit you?
    Happy Friday, my friend!

  5. It’s easier to just get it done than to worry about when you will do it, how you will do it, etc. You also feel better once it’s done. So I totally agree, Barbara.
