Description
The craft of “tadelakt” is a Moroccan tradition, using shell lime from the Marrakech plateau, where the original tadelakt lime can be found. The word “tadelakt” translates as “to rub in”: olive soap is rubbed in resulting in a hydrophobic lime plaster used on both the interior and exteriors of buildings. It is the traditional coating of the palaces, hammams and bathrooms of the riads (traditional hotels) in Morocco. Tadelakt has a luxurious and soft tactile touch.
Tagine or Tajine is a traditional cooking pot made of pottery, sometimes painted or glazed. It consists of two parts: a flat and circular base unit and a large cone-shaped cover.
My tagines are decoration objects and not meant to be used for cooking. I keep my keys (except when I misplace them before!) in them.
