Butter Dish with Bird Lid

This bird fascinates me, this feeling most certainly dates back to my youth when one of the first comics I read was a French comic that first appeared in 1905 (long before my time) and its heroine was La Bécassine (the French word for snipe). I think the word also means something you would not want to call a nice young girl.
