A Day In The Life … Has It Been One Whole Month?

Day #30

My September challenge is drawing to a close.

Yesterday afternoon I went to the opening of an exhibition and saw something unexpected and very funny:

Outside Art in Riehen, Basel

Intriguing, was there not something on that man’s steely shoulder?

going closer
what might this be?

A grasshopper …

from the left
… whispering something in steel man’s ear!

Today is the last day of September and the last day of my daily postings. In a way I am rather relieved and on the other hand I feel a little bit sad.

Honestly, I did not think I would make it to the end. And in the beginning there were days when I thought: why bother, is anybody reading my blog? Or am I the proverbial needle in the haystack or one simple tree in a densely populated forest?

This is not the issue. Rather I set myself a very ambitious goal and followed it through. I proved to myself that I can trust myself and even be generous sometimes by exceeding the time limit.

What do you think: should I continue with my daily posts? Or maybe post twice a week? Is once a week enough?

Day #30 I made it and it makes me proud!

Have you ever done something similar?

Set yourself a very ambitious goal and either done it or abandoned it?

And how did you feel when you had accomplished it?

  1. Congratulations Barbara – you did it! That does say a lot about your resolve!
I’m not one to advise you on how often to post. I’m seriously considering going down to one post per week. 😉
I’ll be watching to see what you decide. I don’t always have as much time to read as I used to, but I always want to come and see what you’re saying!

  2. Congrats Barbara! I’ve never managed the whole 30 day challenge.  I personally think blogging every day is a large feat, causing blogging to take over ones life, but honestly, do whatever fits well with you 🙂

  3. Lori Good morning, Lori! YES, I did and above all I felt carried through this month by the support of my online and offline friends who cheered me on. So, who knows what will happen?
I really enjoyed the rewriting of a scene, a changing of attitude that I normally keep to myself in my journal. Sharing it publicly did not infringe on my introvert needs to protect my privacy, on the contrary I think I have shared more of myself and become more visible. Does this make sense?

  4. JanineRipper Hi Janine, thanks! You have achieved so much, it does not matter whether it is daily. I have become much faster by the daily exercise. Were it not for spreading the word, I’d be seriously tempted to carry on.
You are right, blogging should not take over our lives, I am working on it!
    Have a great day, Janine!

  5. Late_Bloomers It feels good to put yourself out there and have people respond positively, doesn’t it! I think you have achieved a balance that suits your personality. Cool! I get that! 🙂
